{"id":188,"date":"2016-03-18T10:39:44","date_gmt":"2016-03-18T14:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/masoncarver.com\/?p=188"},"modified":"2016-03-18T10:39:44","modified_gmt":"2016-03-18T14:39:44","slug":"nostalgia-o-rama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/masoncarver.com\/?p=188","title":{"rendered":"Nostalgia-o-rama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking the other day about past favorite roles, and I kept thinking&#8211;<em>Man, I wish I could tackle that again, knowing what I know now.\u00a0<\/em>I was 22 when I played Prospero in <em>The Tempest<\/em>, what did I know of loss and betrayal?<\/p>\n<p>So, here&#8217;s a list of roles I&#8217;d like to do over, \u00a0as a supposed &#8220;adult&#8221; with all that life experience under my belt.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prospero, just because.<\/li>\n<li>Claudius, in <em>Hamlet<\/em>, because I&#8217;ve only done staged readings and I think a full production would let me finesse him a little more.<\/li>\n<li>Matt, in\u00a0<em>Talley&#8217;s Folly<\/em>, because I think I had the wrong end of the stick on the &#8220;A Lit, a Lat, and a Let&#8221; speech.<\/li>\n<li>Vladimir,\u00a0in\u00a0<em>Waiting for Godot<\/em>, because that&#8217;s a play you can always find new areas to mine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a bunch of roles I&#8217;ve always wanted to play, and I&#8217;d better get on them before I get too old to play them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking the other day about past favorite roles, and I kept thinking&#8211;Man, I wish I could tackle that again, knowing what I know now.\u00a0I was 22 when I played Prospero in The Tempest, what did I know of loss and betrayal?
